Google Chrome Extensions to Reduce Memory Consumption

Google Chrome allows users to have 20, 30 or more tabs open concurrently.   While this supports an important user behaviour, there's a known issue with Google Chrome & excessive memory consumption when that many tabs are open on a user's Cloud Desktop.

There are several 3rd party tools which can help manage tabs in Google Chrome, and therefore reduce resource consumption on the customer VM.

Examples

Tab Wrangler is a 3rd party Google Chrome extension which allows the automatic management of Chrome tabs, specifically closing tabs after x period of inactivity.   This dramatically reduces load on the customer VM (RDS Host).   See more details here

OneTab is a 3rd party Google Chrome extension which converts all tabs into a list.  By reducing the number of open tabs to a single one, can result into saving as much as 95% of memory allocated to Chrome.  See more details here.
