Overview

The USB Redirection feature allows you to use some locally attached USB devices in CloudApps. You can redirect multiple USB devices to the remote desktop. Please note that while this feature is available, it may only work for certain devices. itopia does not officially support USB redirection. You can use it at your discretion, but if a device does not work, it should be considered non-compatible.

Prerequisites

  • Chrome 87 or later or Chromium-based Microsoft Edge 87 or later.

  • A user must enable USB redirection.

Usage

  1. Connect the USB device to the local system.

  2. Log into CloudApps, start the class, and connect to the remote desktop.

  3. Open the sidebar by clicking the sidebar tab on the right-hand side of the window.

  4. Click the USB Devices icon at the top of the sidebar.

  5. Select the USB device from the list and click Connect.

  6. Close the sidebar.

If the device is compatible, it will be redirected to the remote desktop and available for use in the session. If the device is not compatible, an error message will appear, or the device will not be present.
